Lilith, The Mother Of Us All

The many faces of Lilith Lilith dates back 4,000 years. Her origins seem to lie in Babylonian mythology. They believed that she preyed on pregnant women and babies. She’s also referenced by the ancient Hittites, Egyptians, Israelites, and Greeks. She appears in the bible as a wandering demon shunned by the prophet Isaiah.

In Jewish mythology Lilith was said to have been Adam’s first wife, but she refused to be submissive. She was banished from The Garden of Eden. Lilith later returned to tempt Eve with the forbidden fruit. Lilith has also been referenced as serving as handmaiden to the Mesopotamian Goddess, Inanna, also known as Ishtar.

The Sumerian Goddess of love, sensuality, fertility, procreation, and also war. She would deliver men to Inanna for sacred sex rituals. Her ancient name is first referenced in the Gilgamesh and the Huluppu Tree- A Sumerian poem found on a tablet dating back to about 2,000 BC. Michelangelo once portrayed Lilith as a half woman, half serpent, coiled around the tree of knowledge.

Lilith represents the divine feminine, powerful force that lies within all of us. She is beautiful and soft with feminine features yet carries the strength of a masculine warrior. She will not stand for nonsense. If she’s called out to you then it’s time to step into your own divinity.

With our Lilith Collection, In my personal experience Lilith doesn’t care for excuses or the woe is me mentality. She calls us to rise and conquer all aspects of our lives. When working with Lilith you’ll want to always show the utmost level of respect. I like to light a candle for her surrounded by rose petals and snake skin. also leave an offering of red wine. I channel and speak to Lilith in the same way that Christians would say a prayer.

If you need strength and courage simply ask her kindly. She will come through and when she does you will simply know it. It’s an extremely powerful, almost intoxicating energy. Lilith is wonderful to call on in matters of love, sex, confidence, inner strength and courage. I highly recommend doing more research for yourself and developing your own relationship with her. When Lilith calls to you, your life is in for a beautifully wild ride.
